Welcome to EAC Sabah...

I am most happy to note that the EAC Website will play a major role in promoting information on EAC activities with regards to the preservation and conservation of the environment. This website is one of the principal vehicles through which EAC hopes to stimulate awareness on caring for the environment and enhance participation and action at all levels of society.

The mission of EAC is in bringing the people of Sabah together to care for the environment. I encourage you to be part of this wonderful movement by being a friend of EAC and contribute your time and efforts towards enhancing environmental management in Sabah. Your contribution will spur the society at large to extend more care and concern for the environment. Make a difference and become a role model in our quest to maintain the green environment of the state.

The efforts of maintaining our environment should be an on-going process and we hope all organisations and individuals will continue to promote the principle of smart partnership, to stimulate and enhance at all level society's concern and to contribute towards a clean, healthy, safe and green society.

	Environmental Action Centre Sabah together with MB Enviro-Healers and its Technical Partner, Menara Sutera Sdn Bhd will be launching the retrofitted and tested with much success the Prototype Solar Powered Golf Cart which loaned by the Sutera Harbour Golf Club on 19th July 2012 at Sutera Harbour Golf Club at 3:00pm by YB Datuk Masidi Manjun, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment. 	EAC Penampang with Sabah Parks, Sabah Biodiversity Centre, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, Department of Environment Malaysia, Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Sabah State Water Department, Department of Education Sabah, University Malaysia Sabah will be holding River Environmental Education Programme Penampang District on 21 May 2012, Monday to 24 May 2012, Thursday at Inobong Substation, Penampang. 	EAC Sabah will be holding an exhibition in conjunction with Molisau JKKK Carnival for Kaamatan at Dewan Muhibbah Tenghilan on 5th May 2012, Saturday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. All are welcome to join in this programme.
	Saturday, 30th July 2011 Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 in Papar - Head of the Environmental Action Centre's (EAC) Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 and member of the EAC Management Group and Steering Committee, Nilakrisna James, said that Papar deserves to be declared an "award-winning heritage town" by the government. 	Sunday, 24th July 2011 Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 in Matunggong - The Environmental Action Centre's (EAC) Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 made its way to Matunggong on Saturday with 30 youths participating in the seminar, toilet quiz and cleaning demo exercise at the Dewan Astaka Matunggong and was officiated by the Assemblyman for N.4 Matunggong, Sarapin Magana. 	Bring Your Own Bag Days Campaign aims to reduce the usage of plastic bags during shopping activities. The 3R (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle) concept is being applied in this campaign. It hopes to encourage people to practice a lifestyle of using the reusable shopping bags, non-woven, or eco-bags whenever going shopping. Read More
	3R Programme: (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle) in Kudat - Environmental Action Centre Sabah and Kudat Turtle Conservation Society have collaborated in organizing a 3R Programme (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle) at SJKC Lok Yuk Kudat and SM St. Peter Kudat on 17 & 18 June 2011. Read More
	Saturday, 2nd July 2011 Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 in Nabawan - The Environmental Action Centre (EAC) carried out their Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 in Nabawan on Saturday after launching the program in May this year. This is the second town after Bingkor in this year's campaign. Read More
	Monday, 23rd May 2011 Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011 in Bingkor - The Environmental Action Centre (EAC) started their Toilet Cleanliness Campaign 2011in Bingkor, Saturday, with 50 targeted participants from the local community, the Jawatankuasa Keselamatan Dalam Bandar and Keningau's Gerakan Belia Dinamik Pedalaman. 	Photo Contest - Love Your Wetland - Environmental Action Centre (EAC) Sabah together with Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society is organizing a photography contest to promote the conservation of wetland in Sabah especially in the Kota Kinabalu area. Read More
	Friday, 6th May 2011 Sabah Environmental Awards - EAC is pleased to announce that the Sabah Environmental Awards 2009-2010 is now opened for nomination. The event is to honour those who excel in their services and contributions to the environment of Sabah. Read More
	Monday, 28th March 2011 Earth Hour programme in conjunction with SM All Saints at SM All Saints Hall from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The activities are electricity consumption reducing contest, song composing on energy saving and mural painting on energy saving. All are welcome to join in this programme.
	Sunday, 27th March 2011 An exhibition on plastic bag reduction campaign at Kalansanan Village, Inanam from 7:00am to 3:00pm. All are welcome to join in this programme.
	Saturday, 26th March 2011 Launching of Earth Hour 2011 at Pool side, Hyatt Regency Hotel Kota Kinabalu from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Participation is on invitation.
	Saturday, 26th March 2011 Talk on "On-going efforts to Implements Energy Saving at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Gaya" at SM All Saints from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Participation is on invitation.

	Small Grants 2011 is now open for application EAC Sabah Small Grants allows Environmental Education and Awareness programme to reach out to grassroot organizations engaged in environmental work. The focus of this grants is to support organizations that identify and work on the root causes of environmental problems and with a commitment towards bringing changes among the people. The programme should have a clear agenda for change and a strategic plan to achieve the organization's goals. Read More
